February was the last time I sat down and wrote a Me and Mine post. For years I have enjoyed capturing our monthly family photo and then writing a round-up of our time together. This year really has knocked me for six and only in the last two months have I started to feel like we have settled back into life. Whether that’s finding joy in the everyday, adjusting to spending our days without Leonard, or feeling that it is OK to make plans for the future.
I haven’t been so good at capturing a family photo this year, although I did manage one in April and again in June. I guess life really has taken over and certainly stifled my creativity. Despite our incredible loss as a family and the constant sadness we feel, I want to get back on track with a tradition I have loved for so many years. So, here I am sharing some moments of joy from Chapter 4, the month of April (and maybe March too).
ME AND MINE – APRIL 2023
GEORGE
Being voted Captain for the School football team, Nanny moving in with us two days a week, visiting Clarksons Farm on our trip to the Cotswolds, the sun shining and being able to play out in the garden, sleepovers with friends and his new basketball.
DADDY
Celebrating his birthday with friends, escaping to the Cotswolds for Easter weekend, settling into his new job, watching George Captain his School football team, planning George’s birthday, and our California road trip.
MUMMY
Getting away to the Cotswolds for Easter, mapping out our California road trip, watching George Captain his school football team, planning our Cornish adventure for May half-term and the thought of the sunshine returning so that we can enjoy BBQ’s in the garden.
BOBBY
Running in the long grass, playing with new toys, the sunshine in the garden and Mr H working from home.
And that’s our Me and Mine – April 2023
Despite everything the start of 2023 has thrown at us I am so glad that we have still managed to capture our little family during a really difficult time. As we move forward with a new year, which will be our 8th year taking part in this #meandmineproject I am hopeful of a brighter 2023 and how it takes shape for our little family.
And so, as Chapter 4 of 2023 is coming to an end, I wish you all a wonderful Summer time ahead.
