A little update on life lately…

It’s been a long couple of weeks over here.

How are you all? I haven’t managed to update the blog since the beginning of the month and finally I’m back. I can’t quite believe we’re just a few weeks away from Christmas. This time next week we’ll be on operation decorate the house for the festive season. A little earlier than we would usually, but after what the last couple of weeks have thrown at us we’re focusing on Joy and twinkling lights.

Are you decorating early this year? We’re all looking forward to sprinkling some magic around the house although we are wondering how Bobby will react. I have a feeling he’ll be very interested in the trees and baubles. Speaking of trees, each year we visit the Christmas Tree farm and pick out our trees, it’s a tradition we’ve had for years now – we even take a tape measure! I’m so glad that the farm can stay open and we can still keep up this family tradition. So much will be different this year but at least we have this small amount of normality.

And so, here’s a little update on life lately…

Things slowed down somewhat for our little family the last couple of weeks and not just because of the second lockdown. We were involved in a serious car accident, thankfully there were no serious injuries but we were hurt and needed to take a few days to rest. We retreated to our little family bubble and looked after each other.

Mr H really looked after us. George very quickly bounced back thank goodness – I think returning to School, being distracted by his learning and friends definitely helped him. I’m not afraid to admit that I have struggled, not only with my body from the impact of the crash but also in my head. Thankfully after 10 days, yesterday I started to feel myself. I managed the School run for the first time in so many days and an outfit that didn’t involve my casual wear!

Our friends were amazing, checking in on us, sending gifts and making sure we were all OK. I really do feel so lucky that the accident wasn’t more serious and that we have such amazing friends and family who were there for us.

And so, because of all that we’ve decided to add some festive joy to our lives which starts this weekend. I know it’s early but if this year has taught us anything it’s to celebrate the little things and find joy wherever you can. And hopefully picking up an Eggnog Latte from Starbucks, tis the season! We’ve even booked our delivery slot for the Christmas food shop and watched our first festive movie! We’re diving in.

I hope you’re all doing ok. And staying safe. Have a great weekend x x

I’m so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you are feeling better now, it certainly shakes you up when something like that happens.
Take care and all the best.
