This week I have been

Despite the weather it has been a really great week. Full of promise and hope.

I feel like all the hard work from the past 12-weeks is starting to pay off. On a personal level our garden is finally coming together with the last few pieces of our furniture arriving from Ikea. It feels so good to be able to sit out. On a professional level we are starting to see some really positive signs of the market returning. It was just what we needed as a business and hopefully it continues.

How are you all?

And so, this week I have been….

Watching

My latest obsession is Grey’s Anatomy. I really do get so engrossed. Mr H laughs but for me it’s a way of relaxing, of switching off. George is obsessed with watching F2 and Dude Perfect on You Tube. Great for football and tricks obsessed little ones.

Reading with George

He’s always enjoyed reading. At the start of lockdown he read every day as he would at School. And then as the week’s developed he fell out of love with it. Rather than force him we let him ease off. This week he has been reading The Boy in the Dress, by David Walliams. And a few others from the collection. He says it’s his absolute favourite book and cannot wait to read it again. I just love that. I feel like David Walliams as an author is up there with some of the greats.

Feeling emotional

I always feel like this in June, the month our gorgeous George was born. I have to distract myself with planning his celebrations as I just come over all emotional. How is he 9 years old? A cliche to say that I know. It’s true, how is he almost 9 years old! His decorations have started to arrive, he’s asked for rainbow themed decorations and a garden party which I am very happy to plan.

Enjoying the garden

I said it last week, I think I’ll continue for the whole of summer – I am so glad that we have created this space. It’s been the greatest project and feels so satisfying. George has his grass and we have our little oasis on the patio. An outdoor space we can enjoy. We really did underestimate our outdoor space. I need to start thinking of writing a renovation blog post. Although we aren’t quite yet finished so I’ll wait just a little while longer.

Wearing

I’ve really enjoyed wearing layers and my cosy knits this week. Don’t get me wrong I’m still wearing them over my summer dresses and jumpsuits but that cosy feeling never fails to soothe the soul. The sun is set to come back this weekend and beyond so once again I’ll enjoy digging into my summer clothes and hopefully topping up my tan.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

I love the addition of an outdoor rug in your little oasis, KA. Can you leave it outside in the bad weather? Such a shame that the weather turned in June, it’s just been glorious hasn’t it?!

Its a great way of making it more homely. We haven’t left ours but it’s woven, we just roll it up and put it under cover with the furniture
