This week I have been

This week I have been…

Dancing around the Christmas tree.

Well, not quite but you know what I mean. Don’t you? I just love having all the house decorated and lit up with twinkling lights. And gosh it’s now become so hard leaving the house of a morning, I just love waking up to the warm glow of lights in each room. Each year when it’s time to undress the house I always think to myself, how many lights can I keep up. What is an acceptable amount without looking like the house is still dressed for Christmas. Everything looks better with fairy lights. A little bit like sun-kissed skin, everything just looks more alive.

In other news, life has just all of a sudden become really busy. All positive of course. And I guess it was expected. December really is the most wonderful time of year. It just doesn’t get any better than December. Than the festive period. The day job, work-life, home life, lots to do, lots to organise, lots to celebrate, lot to enjoy.

And so, this week I have been:

Wearing

I am living in my jumper dress. It was a bit of an impulse buy from H&M – not knowing whether I would like myself in it but yes I do. I actually can’t believe how easy it is wear. It looks and feels great. I’m so glad that I went for something that I wouldn’t usually.

Decorating the house

Most definitely my favourite thing from the last week. Filling the house with all of the festive magic. I think this year with the addition of these gorgeous snowflakes from The Paper Snowflake Company we have created a winter wonderland which I am very proud of. They really do add the wow factor. We rarely buy new decorations as we have collected so many over the years, whereas this year we had a vision. I just love how they have transformed our hallway which ordinarily we wouldn’t decorate. They make me smile. You can see more decorations in this post Tis the season… for decorating.

Playing with Buddy the Elf

Well, since we last chatted Buddy the Elf has returned to our home. He is staying with us for the next 24 days. Causing mischief but mainly having fun with George. There has been much laughter. And definitely a couple of early starts from George who has woken out of excitement for finding Buddy. I do love this tradition. I hear so many folk grumbling about the #elfontheshelf movement – I just think baa humbug to them.

Enjoying the Winter sunshine

I love the winter sunshine. The glow. The crisp mornings. I only wish we could guarantee this every day. It really is quite lovely to head out in a morning and capture the scenery. Nature really is a wonder.

Watching

I’m a Celebrity of course. Have you been watching this year? I will admit that the line up this year didn’t excite me as much as last year. That said I have enjoyed watching the celebs, seeing their reactions, their inner strength and compassion. I’ve been disappointed in a couple of them, those guys have been evicted now and I am definitely excited by who is left for the last couple of days. And best of all, George has been watching the episodes with me, he has really enjoyed it. He has his favourites.

And that’s my this week I have been. Have a wonderful weekend. May it be filled with the magic of Christmas.
