This week I have been

From start to finish I have felt so proud. Proud of my gorgeous George.

He just seems to have a brilliant attitude lately – to his learning, his sports and to our family unit. I’ve watched him have an awesome game at football. Playing together as a team. Overcoming a fear at his swimming lesson, coming 7th in his cross country race with his team placing 1st overall. Which is brilliant as it means they get to run as a team for the County in the finals next year. As a parent and School Governor I am so proud of them all. But not as much as for George, overall he placed 5th in his year – but actually it’s not his year as he’s racing against Y5 and actually he’s in Y4. He really is a wonder.

And so this week I have been

Listening

To the Shagged, Married, Annoyed podcast by Chris Ramsey and his wife Rosie. I stumbled across it a few months ago and dip in and out. I think they’re up to episode 37 now, they have a good old natter together as a couple, share some funny stories – well he is a comedian. Lately they are discussing Strictly Come Dancing as Chris is on the show this year. But they also have some really funny and relate able stories or situations that they discuss which are quite literally laugh out loud moments. Do you listen to podcasts?

Wearing

Always a favourite section to write up. I have been wearing comfort first, these leopard print bottoms are actually a jumpsuit that I picked up in the summer. I thought I would try it with my jumper and trainers and gosh was it comfy, so I might even wear it again this weekend. And then there’s the green dress – forever a favourite and may even be my new favourite printed dress. Other than that it was my slacks as we lazed around the house.

Walking in the woods

Last Friday we were invited to the Magical Woodland over at Blakemere Village in Cheshire. I’ve seen this event advertised in previous years and thought about going along. So to be asked was just lovely. Our tickets were gifted to us in exchange for some social promotion on the night but honestly I found myself raving about it for days.

It was magnificent. The lights, displays, interactive bits, water displays and beyond were so moving. Magical as the name suggest. Every detail has been thought of. Incredible. Other than visiting Disney, this is by far the best thing we have seen this year.

Enjoying a Mummy and Son day

I managed to squeeze in a few hours just me and him. I crave this time together and don’t hold Mr H back when he has plans to watch the football or see his friends. Oh no, I seize the moment to enjoy some much needed one to one time with my love able George. You can read all about our Mummy and Son day in this post all about the simple things.

Watching

The sunrise. The sunset. The skies have been incredible this week. Which is a stark contrast to last week when it was wet and very rainy. This week it was been perfectly Autumnal. Crisp, bright, brisk and filled with gorgeous views. I do love Autumn. Oh Hello October.

And that’s this week’s I have been post.

We have a much needed quiet and weekend at home planned. Unusually so, George has no football matches this weekend so I am determined to enjoy two lazy mornings. We are also about to take on a little renovation of George’s playroom, nothing major just a good old clean out ready for Santa visiting as well as introducing some new furniture and accessories.
