It’s the simple things…

As weekends go they are usually pretty busy around here. We spend our mornings going between football fields watching George play in one of two teams. So when his Saturday game was cancelled last weekend we all enjoyed a slow start. Snuggles and breakfast in the big bed was the order of the day. And much needed after a long week. A really long week.

It really is the simple things.

Especially when life suddenly gets very very busy. It’s only recently that George has been asked to play for two teams which in total takes over 3 evenings and both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Its a huge commitment but supporting him in his football endeavours is so important to me, to us as a family. I do miss one slow morning on a weekend. So last weekend really was a treat.

And so, I took the opportunity to make Saturday all about the simple things. Mr H was off to meet the boys to celebrate a friends big birthday so I took the opportunity to spend a much needed Mummy and Son day with my gorgeous George. They seem to far and few between lately. It was a day full of all the simple things at our favourite – Trentham Gardens. It’s been so long since I’ve written a post like this, and it feels like a treat in itself.

It was a crisp, magic Autumnal day. The trees are changing colour and shredding their leaves. We’ve pulled our sweaters, hats and winter coats out from yesteryear. Oh hello October. So full of colour. So cosy and beautiful. We stomped around the Italian Gardens and huddled under the archway, we drank hot chocolate and danced in the falling leaves. We wandered, held hands and laughed all whilst having cold noses and blowing kisses. It was the best day. A happy happy day.

A few photos from our day…
