This week I have been

Oh hey there weekend.

It’s so good to see you.

After a really long week, a tricky one navigating Summer clubs, work schedules and visiting Grandad, my father in law in hospital I am really happy to see the weekend. Only because I need to catch up on a bunch of life admin, organising for our fur baby to go to boarding for our upcoming holiday (his first time which we’re all feeling very emotional about), George’s last few days in clubs before we disappear to Spain as well as supporting Nanny with a few things.

Anyway, how are you? Have you had a good week?

And here you are, this week’s I have been:

Catching up with friends

Last weekend we had a little afternoon and evening catching up with friends. Sometimes I think a catch up with friends, good food, chit chat and a change of scenery is good for the soul. There was wine and Cherry Bakewell Gin a plenty as well as lots of laughter with the children. I’m taking a little advice from my tee lately and living in the moment.

Visiting Grandad in Hospital

George’s Grandad, my father in law bless him got the news a couple of week’s ago of a cancellation appointment for his hip surgery which came just at the right time. He’s really been struggling these last few months. With having heart surgery last year this operation had to be put on hold so I can’t tell you how happy we all were for him when the letter arrived. I really do hope this surgery helps to get him back on his feet, moving about with ease rather than grimacing with the pain. He deserves to move with ease for the rest of his years.

Wearing

Always a favourite section to write about. Just a few phone snaps this week I’m afraid. Life seems to be getting in the way of grabbing more professional looking outfit photos. I need to work on that. The balance is forever tipped in the wrong direction at the minute. I’m sure soon it will readdress itself. And if it doesn’t we’ll find a way of making it work.

Back to what I have been wearing. I have to tell about my Teva sandals. Oh my goodness they are a game changer. They go with everything in my wardrobe so far. I’m yet to find a dress, skirt or pair of jeans that don’t work. I know some would call them a bit of a dad sandal, I just can’t stop raving about them. Style and comfort. I wish I had come across them before our trip to Florida. I love them. Best £40 I have spent this year, well on footwear anyway *inserts smiley face*.

Writing on the blog

I’ve been enjoying updating the blog with a few posts, some that have taken days and weeks to pull together. I think it’s a misconception that blog posts of any level of detail or thought get published within minutes or a few hours. For me I really do put so much thought into the words I share with you, my tips and recommendations. I definitely don’t take this role of dare I say it an Influencer lightly. It’s important to me that you know my words are from a good place, are genuine and thoughtful.

This week you’ll find our review of our Eurocamp holiday at the start of the Summer holidays where we visited La Vallee in Normandy. There’s also a little style post as well another travel post about our trip to Orlando where we visited Islands of Adventure, our favourite of the Universal Resort parks.

And lastly, Watching

Mr H and I have been watching When They See Us on Netflix. Its a four part drama about the Central Park Five who were wrongly convicted. It’s a must see but gosh it’s draining. I don’t think that you can watch more than one episode at a time. It’s so intense. And as it’s a true story it’s so difficult to digest on so many levels. The first and last episode were truly devastating, unbelievable and heartbreaking. How those Five boys, now men are still alive, able to share their stories and build their lives around what was life changing for them is incredible. They are so strong. An inspiration.

Have a great week and see you next week just before we fly to Spain to spend the last ten days of the summer holidays together.

It’s a slow recovery that’s for sure. Hopefully he starts to listen to those around him and respond to the recovery process. We really are looking forward to heading out to Spain. Ooh yes these sandals will definitely save your feet x
