A few weeks ago I wrote a post telling you all about a change I was making. As promised here is a little update. It’s been 5 weeks since we decided to make a change. 5 weeks since we gave ourselves a kick up the bum and focused on where we want to be as the Covid restrictions begin to ease. And I feel so proud of what we have achieved.
We both feel less bloated, we’ve both lost a stone in weight and a great number of inches between us. We feel better for it, we feel healthier, we have more energy and most of all we’ve stripped out the bad habits. And that was one of the main aims for both of us, especially me. I really had fallen into the trap of snacking.
We’ve re addressed the balance around snacking, we have a clear plan of the food we want to eat, we’re building exercise into our already crazy schedules but this time on a manageable basis. And of course, we will be treating ourselves on a weekend, but this time there will be no over indulgence. It’s not necessary.
I feel like I am in a good place right now. I feel like myself again. I’m also sleeping better, in part that’s stripping back but also the extra weight I was carrying was having a negative impact on my back and the strain since my accident. I had no idea that this would be a benefit, for that reason alone the last 5 weeks have made a real difference.
Spring Forward
I can now wear my summer clothes and feel confident – they were so uncomfortable before and best of all the Spring sunshine and warmer weather has arrived so I can enjoy the feeling of warm sunshine on my skin. I’ve committed to carrying on for a few more weeks until April comes to an end. I set myself a goal and I’m not quite there yet. But I will be soon.
Next step is to start running, I cannot manage the weight training I’ve previously done since having the car accident so my physio has suggested running. With the help of George and my friend that is my next goal, to run two of three times a week and then fit in some body weight exercises with Mr Joe Wicks.
Catch up with you again at the end of April.
