Summer outfit ideas [Wardobe Edit]

Summer outfit ideas [Wardobe Edit]

Summer lovin’ had me a blast.

It kind of crept up on me, you?

A little sunshine, sand and sea has got me feeling all excited. Excited for long lazy sun filled days, for our summer holidays, picnic-ing,  beach walks and evenings spent watching the sunset. There are worse problems to have. Than choosing which floral dress or pair of denim shorts to wear. Sandals or trainers. Saltwaters or Birkenstocks? Tough choices.

So here I am sharing three summer outfits. Versions of which you’ll find in your wardrobe I’m certain. Or in Zara if you can’t resist the new stock which is slowly filling the shelves. Three outfits which work for me each year on repeat, variations of, re-styled for the summer.

Perfect for beach days, BBQ’s with friends or a family walk. Three outfits which will always have a place in my wardrobe. An old favourite, something new and a classic summer style that never fails me.

Three summer outfit ideas….

Floral dresses and basket bags

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of wearing a floral midi dress. Accessorised with a basket bag of course. They’ve been a staple in my wardrobe for so long now. Effortlessly chic, understated.

I walked into Zara last weekend hoping to pick up some sale pieces. Sadly it was a jumble sale, a mess so instantly I was drawn to the New Collection. This dress had me at its first swoosh as I lifted it from the rail. I did find this gorgeous basket bag in the sale, it was the last one actually. I’m so glad I grabbed it.

An old favourite: Jumpsuit and tan sandals

No matter what the season jumpsuits are a firm favourite over here. I’ve never had one quite so comfortable as this one from New Look. And I adore the colour. Perfect for spring/summer and a lovely loose material. I can see this being a favourite each year as the sunshine makes an appearance. I’m looking forward to styling it in France and Spain on our holidays.

Classic style: Denim shorts and floaty blouses

Can a girl ever have too many pairs of denim shorts? Huge fan over here. I find Topshop and H&M always have the best styles and great prices too. Although I would recommend trying on in store, I tend to size up for a relaxed fit.

They work so well with floaty tops, cami’s or a costume on holiday. I love to style them. I picked up this gorgeous blouse from H&M as a bit of an impulse buy. I’m so glad I did.

And there you go, my Summer outfit ideas. What do you enjoy wearing during the summer months?

Aww thanks, just a quick beach snap. I love how windy it was, nothing like the sea air to give texture.

My summer ‘wardrobe’ isn’t all that different from my winter one! The jeans get swapped for shorts if it’s hot enough. The jumpers are switched for TShirts. And the boots become ballet pumps. I love how many different looks you manage to put together! Oh and that last photo of you is gorgeous.

Oh really? You should mix it up with different colours. I love how my wardrobe tones change as the year unfolds

I really love that jumpsuit from New Look, they’ve got some similar ones this year too but because my girls are wearing them, I’ve kind of shied away. I somehow feel like I’d be trying to compete – some things are best left alone! I’m a big fan of denim shorts and floaty tops though. xx
