Me and Mine in July

Me and Mine in July

Oh July.

This month you have been active, in full bloom, dreamy, hot, sweaty. There have been bbq’s, swimming, gardening – lots of time outdoors. Ice cream, Gin, celebration, there have been picnics. It has been relaxing and refreshing.

Oh July.

July in a nutshell has been a bit of a blur. Unusually so, as a rule July is a really quiet month for us. We actually went on holiday within minutes of George walking out of the School gates which isn’t something we have done before. We usually wait until the end of the holidays and spend two weeks in Spain. It really was a great way to start the summer holidays rather than throwing George straight into summer clubs.

And so let me tell you a little about Chapter 7 of 2019, Me and Mine in the month of July…

It has been quite an emotional month. Mainly because of all the end of year performances, awards, celebrations and George’s last week in Year 3. And whilst it isn’t a change of School, just moving up a year – George has developed a solid relationship with his Teacher. He is really worried about it and continues to tell me that he will miss her. Miss E has been so so good with him, she’s helped him to make friends with his new teacher, Miss B and I’m hoping that with a little encouragement he is now looking forward to Year 4. And then of course there was France, more about that in another post.

And here are some things we have loved about July…

Mummy…

Watching George be awarded man of the match, painting our faces in glitter to watch Coldplay, taking the Ferry to France, wandering around the beautiful streets of Honfleur and lastly spending so much time together as a family.

George…

Watching the new Spidy film, taking a Ferry to France, swimming in the pool every day, meeting friends at Eurocamp and winning man of the match.

Daddy…

BBQ’s every night in France, watching Lion King, beach days, eating caramel flavoured ice cream in Normandy and being reunited with our furry baby.

And that’s this months Me and Mine, our little family in July. How are we about to enter month 8 of the year. How? Gosh time really is flying by. Have a great month and see you on the other side.

July seems to have zoomed by doesn’t it? Emotional for us too – Mimi has now finished primary school and will be moving up to high school in a month! Your trip to France looked wonderful – I’ve been following it with interest and am looking forward to reading more about it and seeing more photos. I hope you have a lovely August (even with the juggle) and that you get lots more family time together before you head off to Spain.

Honfleur was so so beautiful. My favourite type of area – and you’ll love Lion King
