There was only ever going to be one style post I was uploading to the blog this week *inserts smiley face*. This outfit is all thanks to the glorious sunshine that filled the bank holiday weekend. I have been looking forward to wearing this outfit but I always thought it would be worn in this way on our summer holiday, as if I was stomping around the cobbled streets of Espana. Oh how I smiled, it quite literally felt like we were in a different country. Wasn’t it lovely? There is nothing quite like the feeling of sand in your toes and sunshine on your face to get you in the mood for your summer holiday. One of my favourite outfits from our holiday last year was pairing a kimono style dress/top with a pair of denim cut off shorts, perfect for heading to the beach or wandering around. And so when I saw this Robe Dress in Zara I couldn’t resist picking it up, not only is it really cute worn over a pair of jeans it will be the perfect cover up in Spain when we have our family summer holiday later this year. And I just love the material and detailing.
I would happily wear this robe dress every time the sun shines, and whats best is that I may have already got my wear out of it and it’s only been a few weeks since it found its way into my wardrobe. I love when you find an item of clothing that you know will be in your forever summer wardrobe. I can be guilty of buying far too many summer inspired outfits when the promise of summer is around the corner, often falling into the trap of buying trends rather than opting for practicality. I say practicality because we have to be realistic don’t we? I’m not a millionaire despite my husband saying I spend money like I am, but also because we don’t really have a summer that warrants 104 summer outfits. In all seriousness I wear ‘work clothes’ 5 days a week so really only need to have a summer wardrobe for lets say 30 days at best based on the length of the typical British Summer.
And before I forget what about this straw bag, otherwise known as the Alice Bag? Definitely a must buy for your summer wardrobe, I was putting off buying one until closer to our summer holiday in August but I am so glad I indulged. It really is the must have accessory and a must buy. Huge thumbs up for the Sunshine and Shade version of this bag.
