Everything I Packed For Malta

After sharing our girls’ trip to Malta, a few people asked what I packed for an Autumn/Winter getaway in the sun — so here it is. The pieces I actually wore, loved, and would pack again in a heartbeat.

Packing for a girls’ trip in October can be tricky — you want outfits that work for sunshine by day, cocktails by night, and everything in between. Malta in Autumn gave us warm days, very breezy evenings, and just enough excuse to make use of my favourite summer pieces one last time.

Everything I Packed For Malta

The Daytime Edit

Easy, breezy pieces were key. I packed floaty skirts, denim shorts, and oversized linen shirts — perfect for beach walks, exploring Valletta’s streets, or long lunches by the water. My M&S Sienna Miller floaty skirt came out more than once, and I lived in my M&S Sienna Miller tan sandals that went with everything.

Poolside & Beach Days

For lazy afternoons at the rooftop pool or strolls to Nine Lives beach bar, I mixed neutral swimwear with light cotton cover-ups, brightly covered dresses and my trusty Zara straw tote. Add a wide-brimmed hat and big sunglasses, and that’s pretty much my warm-weather uniform sorted.

Evenings Out

Dinner at Taste and cocktails at Kora Terrace called for something a little dressier — mini dresses, linen co-ords, my Reiss silk maxi dress and tan sandals. A light blazer or denim jacket worked perfectly once the sun went down. A must at this time of year.

The Little Extras

I always throw in a few easy accessories: a woven clutch, tassle shoulder bag, chunky gold earrings, and a simple crossbody bag for exploring. Comfortable shoes were a must — I alternated between my Tevas and Dr Martens sandals for daytime and flat leather sandals for evenings.

The Verdict

I managed to wear almost everything I packed (a rare win). The key was sticking to a simple colour palette — creams, rust, and olive tones — so everything mixed and matched. If you’re heading to Malta in autumn, think light layers, breathable fabrics, and pieces that make you feel effortlessly put together.

Style Notes

A few favourites that made the trip easy to pack… M&S – Sienna Miller sandals and the comfiest denim shorts. Free People – my little black dress that worked for both day and night. Accessorize – gold earrings, tassle clutch, and cowboy hat. H&M – relaxed cover-ups, linen shirts and Reiss – the perfect chocolate dress for an evening in Valetta.
