Girls Trip to Malta: When the Holiday Made It Out of the Group Chat

Sometimes the best holidays are the ones that sneak up on you — a few messages in a group chat, a flurry of ideas, and suddenly it’s real. That’s exactly what happened with our October half-term girls trip to Malta. Six of us together, laughter guaranteed, and a few days of sunshine to remind us about friendship and taking a break.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect mix of energy and ease. Early mornings chasing sunrises, late afternoons soaking up sunsets, and the kind of conversations that can only happen when you’re far away from your usual routines.

We spent our days wandering Valletta, exploring the famous streets, and stopping for incredible meals — a highlight being Taste on the famous St Lucia street in Valletta, where the flavours, atmosphere, and company all came together perfectly. Back at our hotel, Lume in Qawra Palace Hotel gave us a relaxed spot for Caribbean food before ending our evening. We also made the most of the rooftop bar and pool, which was adult-friendly and meant we truly relaxed.

Beach walks were another favourite ritual — exploring stretches of cobbles, pausing at quiet coves, and finding exclusive beach bars like Nine Lives, where cocktails on the beach felt almost magical. Evenings were spent hopping between terraces, from Kora Terrace to Sabi, cocktails in hand, laughter echoing into the night as we watched the sunset.

By the end of the trip, it wasn’t just the food, the sun, or the views that stayed with me — it was the laughter, the shared memories, and the feeling that sometimes, the best holidays are the ones that start with a simple “shall we?” in a group chat.
