10 things I want my son to know on his 10th birthday

The happiest of birthday’s to the coolest kid in town! The big 10. I hope you enjoy every second of your celebrations.

I can’t believe how tall, handsome and strong you have become. May this next chapter be full of so much happiness and so much fun.

Ten years ago when I was rushed into hospital we didn’t know how things would go. How life as our little family would look. You were arriving prematurely, 7 weeks before your time. We were scared. I knew then that you were a fighter and that persistence and drive to try your hardest at everything you do, from trying hard to take those first few breaths to figuring out the math equation and learning a new skill is still with you. It’s who you are. I am forever grateful for you George Archie.

10 years ago you came into my life and made me the happiest person in the world. I am tremendously lucky and proud to be your mummy. Just like the rivers go to the sea, I will always be where you are to love, protect, support and guide you.
