The KA Edit: My favourite styles of 2019
I couldn’t let the door close on 2019 without rounding up my favourite styles. Ones I’ve worn time and time again, those that have followed me through all the seasons. The one offs and those I wished I had worn all year. Can you believe I only started wearing a hooded jumper in November! And what about my midi skirts and dresses with my Dr Martens. They have certainly been a staple these last few months.
Three years ago I only ever wore trainers in the gym, whereas right now they’re my best buy of 2019. I really do love styling trainers with more feminine looks. The big surprise for me this year was falling in love with my Dr Martens. Since finding them in my Christmas box a few years ago, a gift from Mr H I have honestly never worn them as much as I have this winter.
So, what have I enjoyed wearing in 2019? Patterns, bright colours and layers. Although admittedly not as much leopard print this year. Dresses with blazers, boots with dresses and layered with cosy knits. In 2019 I only purchased one coat, a black trench coat which I know will stand the test of time. Hats have featured lots in my wardrobe this year. My kind of style all day. And then there’s my pretty tulle and pleated skirts which always appear.
And so all that’s left is to talk about is what I’m most excited about for fashion in 2020. Well, there’s tulle, puff sleeves, mini dresses and skirts, jumper dresses and trainers. 2019 started with a slip dress and ended with puff sleeves. The 80’s and 90’s are certainly making a come back. I tried the puff sleeves myself in the day, but found it easier to dress down so as not to appear over the top. In 2020 I’m looking forward to caring less about appearing over the top and wearing my puff sleeves with pride.
And there you have it. My favourites styles of 2019. What styles will you be carrying forward?
I love your style, KA, you can pretty much pull off anything! Hope to see many more style posts in 2020!
