This week I have been

Oh hey there you guys.

Busy, a week of so much celebration, of being in shock, feeling excited.

It has been a busy old week. September has started off to be pretty fast paced. On top of everything else, throw in some close friends having a baby, a friends birthday mid week, finding out on Thursday that not only was I nominated but I’m also a finalist in the Photography Category for the Brilliance in Blogging (BiBs) awards – well, what a week it has been.

As I said I was a little shocked by the BiBs announcement and only found out by some blogging friends telling me. Isn’t that lovely. I’m not confident that I’ll be coming home a winner in this category as there are other finalists who are professional photographers and clearly awesome but it’s pretty great just being nominated let alone a finalist. So thanks. Thank you very much. I do love photography, it’s all about the memories – there’s nothing more I love than a good old camera roll scroll.

So I guess there’s only one thing left to say (inserts cringe emoji) – if you’d like to vote for me then you can do so here. Thanks so much. You’ll also be able to see a few others you know in other the categories that you might like to cast a vote for as well.

And so, this week I have been:

Enjoying the sunshine

The weather was so blooming lovely last weekend that we couldn’t resist heading out on our bikes. This time we thought we’d follow the canal. A little different to our last bike ride. We needed to concentrate. One wrong move and George could have ended up in the canal! Thankfully that didn’t happen. We covered about 15 miles, saw many a barge and their crew, some lovely views, street art and many many cows. It was such a great few hours together and certainly left us all feeling a little tired out and in need of a Sunday afternoon snooze.

Listening

I’ve enjoyed listening to podcasts for a while now, I dip in and out – some for fun, fashion and in my day job. I would love to make my own actually – for both the blog and H2. But genuinely I feel like a bit of an impostor. Anyway I’ve been listening to Shagged, Married, Annoyed. With Chris Ramsey, the comedian and his wife Rosie. It’s easy listening, always makes me laugh and of course there are some oh my god moments where they could be talking about something that happened to you. Do you like podcasts?

Talking

On the radio! Yes I did it again, this time we chatted about the summer, what I’m looking forward to in Autumn, what to wear as the seasons change and days out in Staffordshire. Chatting to Lucas on BBC Radio Stoke, is surprisingly enjoyable. I say that because I get really nervous. It’s an odd feeling chatting live, no time to edit out the mistakes – obviously I love to chat but like I say it’s nerve wracking. I hope the listeners enjoy it. You can listen here if you fancy, I come on around 17 mins in to the show.

Watching

We’ve been watching a few series this week. There’s the BBC drama The Capture – in truth I find it hard to watch but we’re sticking with it and hoping that it doesn’t have a painful ending. And then there’s The Confession on ITV – with Martin Freeman who I adore. Again a difficult watch, mainly because I’m a little confused as to where it’s going and feel a little awkward by the character Imelda Staunton plays. I didn’t like her in Harry Potter. What is the connection with her story?

Shopping

Shopping is my true love. Well that and Mr H and of course George Archie and my fur baby but you know what I mean. I love to hit the shops at this time of year. And already I have a list as long as my arm but I’m going to be sensible and just wait as more lovely A/W pieces hit the shops. Topshop, Zara and Marks & Spencer really are killing it this year and we’re only at the start of the season.

Here is what I picked up. This first dress is the other print to The Green Dress I wrote about this week. Topshop had £10 off some A/W lines last week so I couldn’t resist. And then the second is a dress from Zara, I cannot wait to wear it with some heels as well as with a jumper so it looks more like a skirt. Tulle is definitely a favourite over here. And these sleeves well, they are huge this season.

And so my loves, that is this week I have been. Have a great week and I shall indeed see you on the other side x x
