Me and Mine in June

Me and Mine in June

The month arrived with sunshine and ended in a gorgeous hazy daze over George’s birthday week. Amidst the rain showers there have been some really lovely sun filled days and we have done our best to make the most of them. It’s been a month of getting back into my fitness routine, of preparing for George’s 8th birthday and all the celebrations around it, of catching up with friends and making plans for my 40th birthday. A gorgeous blend of being around the people we love. My camera tells me that there has also been a lot of BBQ’s with friends, a month of eating cake and drinking Gin. Not too shabby at all.

And so let me tell you a little about Chapter 6 of 2019, Me and Mine in the month of June…

It’s been a month of celebration for us. June always feels like a great month. From passing the 3 month mark at H2 Consultancy, to George’s birthday, a friends wedding and lastly supporting George and his School in the Staffordshire Cross Country final. Can you believe that he made the finals with 3 of his best buddies too. Out of 90 boys running in his race he placed 18th which was just amazing. I felt so emotional watching all 17 children from his School running their races. As a whole the School took two medals and one trophy. So proud.

And then there is George’s football. No month could go by without football featuring heavily. I love his commitment. In June we saw George play his first match with his new team, he has his official signing with the team this week coming which of course will be a moment I need to document. He’s in a league and everything. Again, I’m feeling so proud of my gorgeous boy.

We haven’t really traveled too far this month what with our summer plans just around the corner. Instead we have spent time with friends at garden BBQ’s and picnics. We are saving ourselves for France in July and Spain in August which we’re all really looking forward to. So on the last weekend of June, the forecast was super lovely so we decided to take a trip up to Lytham, St Anne’s. We walked out to sea, splashed about, picked shells, ate fish & chips and of course ice cream. There really is something about the sea air.

Mummy…

Sunshine filled evenings and weekends, spinning classes at MADE, celebrating George’s 8th birthday – watching his face when he realised I had arranged a SleepUnder Party, supporting George at the Cross Country final and lastly a trip to the seaside, the first one of 2019 – there’s nothing quite like the feeling of sand in your toes.

George…

Playing in his first match with his new football team, his birthday celebrations – the sleepover, his party, the presents, being a part of the Cross Country Team, eating fish & chips at the seaside and lastly watching Toy Story 4.

Daddy…

BBQ’s and drinks with friends, lazy Sunday’s in the sunshine, watching George play football with his new team, gardening and lastly a cinema trip to watch Toy Story 4.

And that’s this months Me and Mine, our little family in June. How are we already in month 7 of the year. Gosh time really is flying by. The School year is nearly at an end. Have a great month and see you on the other side.
