Me and Mine – April 2019

The KA Edit

Me and Mine in April.

I had thought about missing April’s catch up, but in truth I just love looking back at these posts not only to see how much George has grown (honestly I need a time machine) but also because when it comes to the end of the year it is such a lovely reminder of our year together. To look back on all the little things we have done, memories made and moments shared.

Although I’m certain that April won’t be forgotten for a very long time. We did manage to grab a whole bunch of family photos whilst in Orlando so it would be a shame not to share them right. That’s my thinking and for that reason alone I want to document them here on the blog.

And just like that our trip to Orlando came and went. Don’t get me wrong we were so lucky to be able to take such a long break. We had a whole 18 days together and it was nothing but wonderful. Immersed in nothing but family time and the magic that is Disney as they say. Although the Disney part of our trip was only lets say a third of the adventure the magic that you feel there was definitely spread across the whole of our trip.

I feel so thankful that this online space allowed me to partner with Seaworld and Universal who gifted us tickets to their parks. Only adding to the magic and in fact were some of our favourite days as they offered something so different to Disney. There really is so much for the family to do in Orlando. I fear we only scraped the surface. I guess that’s a reason to start saving for the next trip.

And so let me tell you a little about Chapter 4 of 2019…

The month was filled with blue skies, huge cuddly animals in the shape of Mickey and friends and of course lots of really good food, Voodoo Doughnuts which I am still dreaming of. The biggest rollercoasters, so much walking – I think we were averaging 30,000 steps a day it really was a lot of walking. Which actually helped to walk off the calories from all the food and of course the cocktails. The Americans certainly know how to pour a measure.

And so, here are a few things we have been loving in April (I bet you can guess what they are)…

Mummy…

Watching George ride his first big rollercoaster, waking up to blue skies and the feeling of sunshine on my skin, wearing Mickey ears, my Disney nails and seeing George smile at all the experiences we were able to share with him. Oh and Minnie asking me to twirl in my princess skirt as she liked it.

George…

Having an interactive wand at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, meeting all his favourite Disney characters, swimming with Dolphins, riding huge rollercoasters, taking on the drop slide at IHU Breakaway Falls whilst at Aquatica (I wasn’t so happy) and lastly being scouted for a local football team.

Daddy…

George being scouted to play for our local team which are in a league, seeing all his planning come to fruition on our trip, riding MAKO at Seaworld over and over again, watching George fighting Darth Vadar at Hollywood Studios, and capturing snippest of our holiday on his new toy – The GoPro.

And that’s this months Me and Mine, our little family in April. May will be a much slower month in comparison. Although it is the build up to George’s 8th birthday in June so I am sure they will be lots of planning. Have a great month and see you on the other side.
