A few of my favourite things...

A few of my favourite things on a Friday.

I’ve been writing posts like this for a few years now, although under different names like my little loves – its one of those posts I really enjoy putting together. Often it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference. These are the things I am holding on to at the minute. Time just seems to be whizzing by, each morning I can see so much change in our gorgeous boy, he’s growing up so fast. His personality is growing, confidence within him is shining through and oh my goodness I could just wrap him up and keep him at this age forever. George Archie you are truly gorgeous, inside and out and I just want to squeeze you so tight. I cannot wait to spend 16 whole days with you soaking up the sun and all of your lovely personality.

And so here are a few of my favourite things lately…

Days out…

We took a trip out to Manchester on Saturday morning and had such a great few hours stomping around the City. We hunted for Bee’s as part of the Bee in the City trail and despite having the worst pain in my legs from training we made it around and managed to find 37 I think it was. George loved the trail, as did we. It really is such a great event. Have you been? We used the app which was such a great tool, you unlock rewards as you go (I may have spent the Boohoo discount on a new bikini). I loved some of their names, the history behind the artist and why it had been designed in a particular way. There were so many that we loved. George enjoyed finding the Bee United and I loved finding Davina McCalls in Spinningfields as well as the HoneyBoo in the Northern Quarter. Mr H loved the Pablo Bee-Casso in Crown Square and the Hac BEE enda Bee in the Printworks.

Watched…

We went to the cinema on Friday evening to watch the new Marvel movie. I do love these movies where they are focussed on one character or in this case two. The Ant & Wasp – what a great movie. I love the technology in it and the characters, the storyline and follow on from previous movies. And oh my goodness the end, if you are Marvel fans you’ll know that it has great significance to the last Marvel movie and Thanos. Wow, we were left wondering where this is going but also that Ant Man will play a significant part in the next movie.

Heard…

I received the news that two of my images and possibly more have been chosen as part of a brand collaboration we worked on a couple of months ago. I was asked to photograph George wearing some shoes, my gorgeous boy as a model. He is modelling for the Bobux A/W campaign which goes on display around the World, online, in print and in store from 22nd August. I wish I lived nearby a store so that we could see them. Here are a few of the photo’s from the shoot I did for them. I can’t show you the two that are 100% being used but I will when they go live. I am so so excited.

Wore…

Maxi skirts, maxi dresses and my new string bag. Covering up a bit as the temperature has dropped somewhat. A welcome break for sure although I do hope the rainstorms stay away. Just for one more week. Oh and I’ve been wearing some gym gear. For the first time in forever I went exercise clothes shopping, I am that girl now! Laughs out loud. Before this trip to the Nike shop, I was wearing a sports bra that I had at University. A long time ago. I would never normally spend money on clothes for the gym but do you know what, I needed to but also I wanted to and was quite excited. I’ve written up a post about getting back into exercise, how its making me feel and some tips for how to get back into it if you’re struggling.

Looking forward to…

Switching off, having a little social media and blog detox although I will still be posting on Instagram & Stories – and reading my new books whilst the boys play. Neither of them can sit still in the sunshine so in between exploring and them playing beach ball games I shall be reading. I picked up these books this week and I’m so excited to get started, I have heard so many good things about the Eleanor Oliphant one. Have you read it? I’m also really looking forward to holding an actual book, for years I have read on my Kindle but I always find it tough in the bright sunshine. And so I am going old school! And lastly in 6 days I will be popping on my out of office, last year it took me a few days to switch off – this year I am hoping that now I have a good support network in my office that I can switch off by the time we fly the following day.

A few of my favourite things...

Have a great weekend and catch you on the other side.

Well don on the images! I wish I could wear more ‘maxi’ clothes but being a shortie most don’t fit me. Eleanor Oliphant definitely lives up to it’s hype.

Thanks so much love. Yeah sadly maxi isn’t great for shorter folk, what about midi? Ooh that’s good to hear about the book, I’ll struggle to choose which one to go first
