Me and Mine – A Family Portrait Project – February 2018

And just like that we find ourselves on the last day of February and I for one can’t quite believe it. As cliche as it sounds the month seems to have flown by, perhaps because in comparison it was much shorter than January. Last month I was dreaming of the cold snap ending, signs of Spring were all around us yet as I write this post the cold snap is back and back with a vengeance. It was minus four this morning and with that so much snow. It’s blooming freezing. Not that you would think so from this month’s photos, don’t be fooled by the blue sky and sunshine, it was a bit chilly willy as George would say but beautiful all the same and so lovely to see such a bright blue sky. The perfect day.

As a family we have all really enjoyed taking our weekends at a much slower pace, January and February have pretty much been a mirror image of each other awash with family days, winter walks and cinema dates. Purposefully so as we have some really busy weekends ahead of us starting this weekend with Mr H’s birthday celebrations. I took these photos on one of our family walks around Dovedale. It was a beautiful blue sky day, bitterly cold and definitely not a day for enjoying ice cream or so you would think – after our 3-hour walk we all enjoyed one. One of my favourite days in February.

George is loving… learning how to drum to Supersonic in his weekly lesson, eating his first ice cream of the year, tubing with Mummy during half term (I was so scared – check out the video), painting a plate at Emma Bridgewater and lastly mastering the monkey bars at the park.

Daddy is loving… making plans for our first trip to Disney World Florida in 2019 (how exciting), a spontaneous trip out to Dovedale in the sunshine, taking George to a watch Manchester United and lastly our plans for two nights away to celebrate his birthday in Manchester at the end of March. Just us.

Mummy is loving… wearing my maxi dress with bare legs (only the one day), photo styling with a friend, producing my first Wardrobe Edit video over on You Tube, a few days over half term with my gorgeous boy and lastly getting back into my training in preparation for the summer.

And so here are a few photos and a little video from February…

I have added this post to the #MeandMineProject over on Lucy’s blog Dear Beautiful.
